| Genre Fashion, | Photographers | Singapore, Singapore | | Hailing from a fashion photography background, Eric spent his early years in Paris assisting respected fashion photographers (Frederick Nast, George Vidal and Jean Marc Scialom) and then in New York where he shot frequently for Elite, Wilhemina, Karin, IMG, Company, Boss, etc. His visual style caugh......Read Moret the eye of Nancy Taylor Rosenberg, author of five NY Times best-selling novels, and she hired him to shoot her publicity shots as well as her personal portraits. Other fashion campaigns/editorials (Chompol Serimont, Personal Affairs) soon followed and music magazine covers (BT, DJ Skribble, Rae & Christian) came knocking.
Not satisfied with merely expressing himself in one medium, that is, photography, Eric began to experiment extensively with film and video media. He shot and directed his first music video, “Strawberry Rose”, on 35mm film for the “Le Bain Douche/Queen” Parisian singing sensation, Bamboo. Immediately after, he broke into the fashion video world when he was hired by The Fashion Association in 1996-1997 to direct and shoot the Men’s and Women’s Spring/Fall Collections. A string of fashion show videos followed which included shows from BCBG, Ferragamo, Ungaro, etc. Having successfully crossed over to video, Eric was approached by different agencies to direct and shoot numerous promotional and corporate videos, amongst them, the New York Times’ “Expect the World” promo; Supermodel Frederique Van der Wahl’s lingerie collection, “Frederique Q”; Dutch designer Anet Meyer’s innovative candy-potato-chip-wrapping-style fashions, etc.
Currently based in Singapore, Eric has been directing television commercials and TV Programs regionally for the last ten years. Amongst others, he has shot print campaigns for Phillips, French couture label, Lolita Lempicka, and directed TV commercials for Olympus, FANCL, L’Oreal, Wings, BMW, Lexus, MediaCorp Radio, Daikin, the Singapore Fashion Festival, Wavin, as well as the Honda "New Jazz" commercial which clinched an ACS Silver Award in Australia and the CC Sound Factory music video which won ‘Best Music Video’ awards at both the European Multimedia Arts Festival and the Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards. Besides high-profile corporate videos for Samsung, Arena magazine, Bain and Company as well as Elite Model Look’s international promo video, Eric has also been Executive Producer/Director for the Elite Model Look Singapore 2011 and 2012 1hr TV Programs and Producer/Director for the Elite Model Look World 2hr TV Program 2008.
Eric’s primary artistic goal has always been to achieve a level of expression with visual imagery that would communicate everything that could be communicated. To this end, Eric’s artistic journey has been fraught with much experimentation, exploration and rewarding visual discoveries and thankfully, continues to be so. |
